Vasiliy Vasilyevich Kolesnik (December 13, 1935 – October 30, 2002) was a Soviet military leader and Hero of the Soviet Union awarded on April 28, 1980. He was a key participant in the storming of the Amin palace. Kolesnik served as the head of special intelligence in the GRU from 1982 to 1992 and held the rank of Major General in 1988.
