Ivan Fyodorovich Makhorin was a Soviet soldier and Hero of the Soviet Union. Born in 1916 in the Atyrau region, he was called to the Red Army in July 1942 after working in Karakalpakstan. He fought in the 6th Guards Rifle Division on the Central and 1st Ukrainian Fronts and notably participated in the Dnieper river battles starting on September 22, 1943, where his machine gun unit heroically protected the right bank. After the war, he worked successfully in the 'Qyzylordaqurylysp' trust in Qyzylorda.
