A key figure in revitalizing Valaam Monastery after its destruction, Metodij initiated charitable projects and contributed to the monastery's cultural life as the editor of 'Svet Valama' magazine. He received notable awards for his contributions and held Russian citizenship before passing away on July 22, 2021.
