Valentin Epifanovich Pankin (January 7, 1931 – June 5, 1997) was a Soviet Air Force general who served as the Chief of Staff and First Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Soviet Air Forces. He was also a distinguished military pilot and held the rank of General-Polkovnik. Pankin had a notable career, including commanding various air armies and being involved in military education, having graduated from several military academies. He was a member of the Communist Party and served in the Supreme Soviet. He passed away in 1997 and is buried at the Monino Military Memorial Cemetery.
