Rena Ilyinichna Saenko was a Ukrainian local historian and senior researcher at the Mariupol Local History Museum, where she worked from 1956 to 2006. She authored approximately 400 articles in various publications in the USSR, Ukraine, and Russia. Saenko contributed significantly to the history of Mariupol and was recognized posthumously as an Honorary Citizen of Mariupol in 2007 for her contributions to the study and promotion of the city's history.
