Boris Ivanovich Satovsky (April 8, 1908 – June 12, 1989) was a Soviet engineer known for his contributions to the mining machinery sector. As the chief designer of the Ural Heavy Machinery Plant from 1963 to 1978, he played a pivotal role in the development of excavators in the USSR. He was a laureate of two Stalin Prizes in 1948 and 1951 and is recognized as a founder of the Soviet school of mining excavator construction. He created the first walking excavator in the USSR and designed the largest one, the ESH-100.100.
