Fəxrəddin Təhməzov, born on January 10, 1951, in Salyan, was the Minister of National Security of Azerbaijan from May 1992 until June 1993. He had a background in education and served in various roles within the National Security structures after graduating from higher education institutions related to pedagogy and security. Təhməzov was appointed as Minister in May 1992, attaining the rank of major general shortly after. He was dismissed from office in June 1993 and briefly imprisoned for his involvement in suppressing the Ganja rebellion.
