Tigran Georgievich Ter-Martirosyan was a Soviet composer and music teacher, born on January 23, 1906, in Alexandropol, Russian Empire. He graduated from the Leningrad Conservatory in 1932, studying under Vladimir Shcherbachev and Christopher Kushnarev. He held teaching positions in various music institutions between 1932-1948, including the Leningrad Conservatory. He authored several compositions for symphony orchestra, string quartets, and chamber works, and wrote a notable textbook on Prokofiev’s harmony in 1966. He passed away on February 4, 1984, in Leningrad, USSR.
