Konstantin Rubenovich Khachaturov (July 3, 1917 – June 27, 1988) was an aeronautical engineer recognized as a Hero of Socialist Labor and a laureate of the Lenin Prize. He significantly contributed to the development of the first domestic gas turbine and diesel aircraft engines. Khachaturov was instrumental in creating a series of third-generation jet engines and modifications of the RD-500 turbojet for high-speed MiG aircraft. He led the implementation of S.K. Tumansky's engines into serial production, which were later installed on aircraft designed by notable figures like A.I. Mikoyan and P.O. Sukhoi.
