Vasily Adamovich Khizhnyak (February 23, 1912 – January 18, 1995) was a participant in the Great Patriotic War and a full cavalier of the Order of Glory. Born into a peasant family in Ukraine, he served in the Red Army from 1934. He fought in the Soviet-Finnish War and later in World War II, where he displayed exceptional bravery and leadership, earning multiple awards for his actions, including the Order of Glory 1st, 2nd, and 3rd class. He was demobilized in 1945 and lived in Smila, Cherkasy Oblast.
