Valeriy Ivanovich Chisov is a Russian oncological surgeon, born on August 28, 1939, in Chkalov. He served as the director of the P. A. Hertzen Moscow Scientific Research Oncology Institute from 1982 to 2013 and was the chief oncologist at the Russian Ministry of Health and Social Development. Chisov is a Doctor of Medical Sciences, a professor, and an academician of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences (RAMS). Since 1995, he has been the chief editor of the Russian Oncology Journal and has contributed to various medical journals.
