Alexander Moiseevich Eskin (April 9, 1901 - February 8, 1985) was a Soviet theatrical figure, founder and first director of the Central House of Actor (TsDA). He was recognized as an Honored Worker of Culture of the RSFSR in 1967 and awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor in 1976. Born in a Jewish family, Eskin was passionate about theater from a young age. He created the first Moscow student musical drama circle ‘Gaudeamus’ and managed several theaters. He ran the House of Actor for nearly 50 years, fostering a creative and warm atmosphere.
