He earned the degree of Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences in 1984 and became a professor in 1987. Esimov is a member of the Academy of International Business and Economics and was awarded the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the fields of science, technology, and education in 2005.
