He served as a member of the National Assembly of Vietnam during its 13th session from 2011 to 2016, representing Nghệ An province. His roles include being a member of the Social Affairs Committee of the National Assembly, a central member of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, and the Vice President of the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association. He also directs the Center for Research and Application of Medical Advances in Vietnam.
