Eduard Viktorovich Chekrygin (May 7, 1936 - October 27, 2006) was a Russian engineer, scientist, and inventor. He graduated from the Taganrog Radio Engineering Institute in 1959 and worked at the Taganrog Research Institute of Communications, eventually serving as director. A candidate of technical sciences and senior researcher, he received the State Prize of the USSR in 1988. He was awarded several honors, including the Order of the Red Banner of Labour and the Order of Friendship. A memorial plaque was installed in his honor in Taganrog in 2014.
