Georgy Andreyevich Znamensky (1901-1955) was a Soviet military physician and medical service major general. He served as the chief epidemiologist for various fronts during World War II, including the Southwestern, Stalingrad, Don, Central, and 1st Belarusian fronts. After the war, he directed the Leningrad Institute of Advanced Medical Training and taught epidemiology at the Military Medical Academy. His work significantly contributed to military public health, especially during epidemic outbreaks. Znamensky was a published author and received numerous military honors for his service.
