Alexander Alexandrovich Petrov is a Soviet and Russian metallurgist born in 1937 in Odessa. He worked at the Chelyabinsk Electric Steelworks from 1959 to 2018, starting as a smelter and rising to head of the ferroalloy shop. He was also a member of the Sverdlovsk volleyball team and the RSFSR volleyball team during his studies at UPI in Sverdlovsk, becoming RSFSR champion in 1958. He has been married since 1958 and has two children.
