Konstantin Ivanovich Savvichev (1903–1980) was a prominent Soviet agricultural scientist and head of the plant breeding department at the Novozybkov Agricultural Experimental Station. He was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor for his contributions to lupin breeding, creating the popular variety 'Fast-growing-4'. A WWII veteran, he received multiple decorations including the Order of the Red Star. Savvichev authored 57 scientific works and several books on agriculture, and is recognized as a deserving agronomist in the RSFSR. He passed away in November 1980.
