Seyyed Hossein Soodmand (June 30, 1951 - December 3, 1990) was the first Iranian priest to be officially killed for his religious beliefs in the contemporary era. After embracing Christianity during his military service, he faced rejection from his family. He was imprisoned for refusing to renounce his faith and ultimately executed on December 3, 1990, in Mashhad following years of imprisonment for his steadfast beliefs.
