Mahdi Amidi Ahang, born on October 30, 1979, in Mashhad, is an Iranian mountaineer and independent Himalayan climber. He became the first Iranian to summit Mount Everest without supplemental oxygen. Immediately after Everest, he also reached the summit of Lhotse. Beginning his professional climbing career at the age of 19 in the heights of Khorasan Province, he has successfully climbed several high peaks, including Spantik, Khan Tengri, Manaslu, Everest (without oxygen), Lhotse (without oxygen), Pobda, and K2 (up to 8,200 meters).
