Vasily Semyonovich Novikov is a Russian medical scientist and public figure born on March 9, 1949, in Domodedovo, Moscow Oblast. He holds a Doctor of Medical Sciences degree and is a professor, as well as a lieutenant general of medical service. Novikov is an academician at the Military Medical Academy since 1999 and was recognized as a distinguished scientist of Russia in 1998. He is a laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology and serves as the vice president of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.
