Ия Васильевна Забоева (1924–2024) was a prominent Soviet and Russian soil scientist. She earned her Doctorate in Agricultural Sciences in 1973. Between 1965 and 1985, she served as the director of the Institute of Biology at the Komi Science Center. Recognized for her contributions, she was honored as a Distinguished Scientist of the RSFSR and a distinguished worker in science and culture for the Komi ASSR. Additionally, she was an honorary member of the V. V. Dokuchaev Society of Soil Scientists.
