Jahongir Qarsievich Qarsiev was a Tajik historian, born on January 2, 1921, in Surchani District, Surxondaryo Region of the Uzbek SSR. He served in the Soviet Army during World War II and worked as a teacher in various educational institutions post-war. He obtained a candidate degree in historical sciences in 1972 and became an associate professor in 1976. His research focused on improving the social culture of rural populations from 1946 to 1956, and he published several works and articles in this field. He passed away on June 13, 1982, in Dushanbe.
