After ordination, he held various clerical roles, serving notably in Novosibirsk. In 1991, he took monastic vows and was consecrated as a bishop. He became the first bishop of the newly established Kemerovo and Novokuznetsk diocese in 1993, later elevated to archbishop in 1998. He retired in 2006 and passed away on March 31, 2008.
