Vasily Petrovich Tikhonov (January 13, 1935 – March 24, 1998) was a Russian weapons and military technology designer. He graduated from the Taganrog Radio Engineering Institute in March 1958 and worked at the Tula Instrument Design Bureau, where he held positions including first deputy chief designer. He contributed to high-tech military systems, including several anti-tank missile complexes. Tikhonov was a candidate of technical sciences, a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Rocket and Artillery Sciences, and authored over 200 inventions.
