Adil Akla is an Iraqi singer who rose to fame in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Born in Baghdad in 1962, he hails from Basra, Southern Iraq. His full name is Adil Akla Abdul Ayada. He is notable for being the first to introduce modern musical instruments into Iraqi singing and is regarded as a modernizer of Iraqi music in terms of style and approach.
