Vasily Vasilievich Babanets (b. March 11, 1940, Krasnodon, Luhansk Oblast, Ukraine) was a Soviet and Ukrainian journalist, publicist, and poet. He became a member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine in 1970 and was awarded the title of Honored Journalist of Ukraine in 1997.
