Aleksey Mikhailovich Muromtsev (February 23, 1921 – July 12, 1987) was a Soviet oceanographer and professor, known for significant contributions to the field of oceanography. He served in the Red Army during World War II and later worked at the State Oceanographic Institute, becoming deputy director for scientific work. Muromtsev organized oceanographic expeditions across the Indian, Pacific, and Atlantic Oceans, published several notable works on oceanic hydrology, and was a co-author of various atlases.
