Nina Vasilyevna Sokholova (December 10, 1912 – December 17, 2001) was an engineer colonel in the Soviet Navy and the first female diver in the USSR. She was the author of the idea for a pipeline across Lake Ladoga, contributing to its construction in 1942. Sokholova was awarded two Orders of the Red Star and the Order of the Badge of Honor for her achievements and service.
