Cecylia Butsi was a Thai martyr and a blessed figure in the Catholic Church. Born on December 16, 1924, she was baptized at just two years old. During the war between Thailand and French Indochina (1940–44), many local Catholics were pressured to renounce their faith. On December 25, 1940, Cecylia refused to deny her faith and was executed the following day, along with two nuns and three others. They were later beatified in 1989 as part of the group known as the Seven Martyrs of Thailand.
