Władysław Cetner was a Polish engineer and scientist, born on March 8, 1903, in Warsaw. He constructed Poland's first radio receiver powered by the electricity grid and contributed to the establishment of radio stations in Lviv and Warsaw during the 1920s and 1930s. He led an experimental television station for Polish Television from 1937 to 1939. After World War II, he was involved in organizing Polish administration in Elbląg and Gdańsk and worked at the Central Office of Radio Broadcasting. He was awarded the Officer's Cross of the Order of Rebirth of Poland in 1949.
