Vakhtang Besarioni's son Gunashvili (February 12, 1926 – October 9, 2010) was a prominent Georgian dancer and a People's Artist of Georgia (1974). He graduated from the Tbilisi Choreographic School in 1949 and worked with the State Academy of Music and Dance of Georgia and the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre. Notable roles include Iago in 'Otello' and Basil in 'Don Quixote'. He was recognized as an outstanding performer of Georgian folk dances and staged multiple operas in Germany, touring worldwide.
