Vladimir Arkhipovich Polevik was a Soviet military leader born on August 12, 1938, in Stradech village, Brest Voivodeship, Poland. He was a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (since 1961) and served as a member of the Military Council and head of the political department of the Soviet Airborne Forces from 1989 to 1991. He served as the deputy commander of the Airborne Forces from 1991 to 1992 and held the rank of major general. He passed away on July 10, 1993, in Orlovka, Shchyolkovsky District, Moscow Oblast, Russia.
