Ivan Nikanorovich Molchanov (March 9, 1903 - November 1984) was a Russian Soviet poet and a member of the Union of Soviet Writers since 1934. He gained nationwide fame in the 1930s with his song 'Prokati nas, Petrusha, na traktor...' which was part of his poem 'Petr Dyakov' about a tractor driver. His controversial poem 'Svidanie' stirred criticism and debate with Vladimir Mayakovsky, and he also gained popularity for the wartime song 'Dorogi dalnie' in 1943.
