Qamar Javed Bajwa is a Pakistani general who served as the 10th Chief of Army Staff of the Pakistan Army from November 29, 2016, until November 2022. Born on November 11, 1960, in Karachi to a Punjabi Jat family, he was educated at FG Sir Syed College and Gordon College before joining the Pakistan Military Academy in 1978. Commissioned in 1989, he held important positions including Inspector General Training and Evaluation and Commander of the 10 Corps, overseeing the Line of Control in Kashmir. He also served as a Brigadier during a UN mission in Congo.
