Qamar Zaman Kaira is a Pakistani politician born on January 5, 1960. He served as the former Minister of Information and Broadcasting in Pakistan. Before this role, he was Minister of Kashmir Affairs and Northern Areas and acted as the Governor of Gilgit-Baltistan in 2009. Kaira began his political career in 2002 with the Pakistan People's Party, and he has written extensively on political philosophy, advocating for democracy. He was reappointed as Minister of Information in 2012 after a cabinet reshuffle. His son, Osama Zaman, tragically died in a road accident on May 17, 2019.
