Qassim Daoud is an Iraqi scientist and politician born on April 13, 1949, in Al-Hillah. He graduated from the University of Baghdad in 1971 and earned a PhD in microbiology and environment from the University of Wales in 1982. Daoud served as the Secretary-General of the Iraqi Democratic Movement and held a ministerial position in the transitional Iraqi government in 2004. He was also an advisor for national security and played a significant role in drafting Iraq's constitution.
