Qinyu Wang (1902-1951) was a Chinese geographer from Cixi, Ningbo, Zhejiang. He is known for advocating for the renaming of Mount Everest to its Tibetan name, 'Zhumulangma Feng'. He studied under Zhu Kezhen and worked at various educational institutions, serving as a professor and director. During the Second Sino-Japanese War, he contributed to educational efforts. In 1951, he raised awareness about the mountain's naming, influencing official recognition. He passed away from cancer, shortly after promoting the rightful name for the world's highest peak.
