R. A. Chandrasena was a prominent Sri Lankan musician active from 1940 to 1980, recognized for his exceptional talent in various musical instruments including keyboard and oriental instruments. He began his career at Radio Ceylon at the age of twelve and established the Chandrasena Institute of Music in 1951, nurturing numerous musicians. In 1969, he launched a gramophone record company which produced popular Sinhala songs, showcasing his work as a composer and director. Chandrasena served as a mentor to many artists, leaving a lasting impact on the Sri Lankan music industry.
