R. Doraikkannu was an Indian politician who played a significant role in Tamil Nadu politics. Born on March 28, 1948, he served as a member of the 15th Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly representing the Papanasam constituency for the AIADMK party. He achieved electoral success in the 2006, 2011, and 2016 elections. In May 2016, he was appointed Minister for Agriculture by Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, marking his first cabinet position in the state government. He passed away on October 31, 2020.
