R. K. Raghavan is a prominent Indian former police chief and diplomat. He served as the director of the Central Bureau of Investigation from January 4, 1999, to April 30, 2001, handling significant cases including the Priyadarshini Mattoo murder case and cricket match-fixing in 2000. He was recognized for his work during the 2002 Gujarat riots investigations, where he led a Special Investigation Team praised by the Supreme Court. In August 2017, he was appointed as India's High Commissioner to Cyprus.
