Robert Michael 'Mike' Canjar (1953-2012) was a prominent mathematician and computer scientist, serving as a Professor at the University of Detroit Mercy. Joining the faculty in 1995, he became the department chairman from 1995-2002 and was promoted to Full Professor in 2001. Before UDM, he had academic positions at several other universities, including the University of Baltimore. Canjar was based in Livonia, Michigan, and contributed significantly to his field during his career.
