R. Selvaraj is a former Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the Neyyattinkara constituency in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. Initially a member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), he resigned from both the party and the Kerala Legislature on March 9, 2012, due to factionalism. He then joined the Indian National Congress, won a by-election in Neyyattinkara, and served with a margin of 6,334 votes. However, he faced defeats in the subsequent elections of 2016 and 2021 against K. Ansalan of CPI(M).
