Rabindre Tewari (Rabin) Parmessar is a Surinamese politician of Hindu descent born on November 17, 1952, in Nickerie. He is a member of the National Democratic Party (NDP) led by Desi Bouterse. Parmessar was a candidate in the 2005 presidential elections but lost to Ronald Venetiaan. He served as Minister of Public Works from 2013 to 2015 and later as Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries in Bouterse's second cabinet from 2019 to 2020.
