Rafael Rubio Martínez is a Valencian politician born in 1960. He studied Geography and History at the University of Valencia. A member of PSPV-PSOE since 1981, he served in various party leadership roles, including the candidate for mayor in 2003 and secretary general from 2000 to 2007. He was a city councilor from 1996 to 2011 and opposition leader against Rita Barberà's government. He became a deputy in the Corts Valencianes in 2011 and was appointed as the subdelegate of the government in the province of Valencia in 2020, but was dismissed in 2021 due to corruption allegations.
