Rafael 'Ka Paeng' Vitriolo Mariano is a prominent Filipino politician born on October 24, 1956. He served as a member of the House of Representatives for Anakpawis from 2004 to 2013 and is the chairman of the farmers' militant group Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP). Mariano was appointed Secretary of the Department of Agrarian Reform by President Rodrigo Duterte but was rejected by the Commission on Appointments on September 6, 2017, becoming the fourth member of Duterte's Cabinet to face such a rejection.
