Raghavan Narasimhan Iyer (1930-1995) was an Indian academic, political theorist, and philosopher known for his significant contributions to political science. He was educated at Oxford and served as a professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara from 1965 until his retirement in 1986. Iyer was a founding member of the United Lodge of Theosophists in Santa Barbara and co-founded the Institute of World Culture, where he served as president until 1986. His work reflects a deep engagement with philosophical and political ideas.
