He studied Sanskrit, philosophy, astrology, and grammar, as well as Ayurveda. A proponent of Gandhian values, he advocated for Khadi and implemented concepts from Ruskin's essay 'Unto This Last.' Thirumulpad focused on physical exercise, nutritious diets, and holistic health, teaching a generation of Ayurvedic graduates to practice more scientifically. He received the Padma Bhushan posthumously and was commemorated for his contributions to Ayurvedic principles.
