Ragnar Nicolaysen (1902–1986) was a Norwegian nutrition researcher known for his pivotal work in dietary fats and cardiovascular diseases. After receiving his medical degree in 1928 and a doctorate in 1935 focused on calcium absorption in dogs, he worked at the University of Oslo as a professor from 1940 to 1972. Nicolaysen established the Biochemical Institute in 1955 and created a specialized nutrition program at the Nordic School of Household Economics in 1967, significantly contributing to the field of nutrition science.
