Rainer Marr (born July 17, 1942, in Gotha) is a German economist known for his contributions to personnel research and management. He was a professor at the University of the Federal Armed Forces Munich from 1974 to 2007 and served as a guest professor at Chemnitz University of Technology between 1991 and 1995. Marr was the chairman of the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences from 2003 to 2006. He is regarded as a pioneer of MBA programs in Germany and is also recognized as the academic father of the Personnel Management Professionalization Index (pix) of the German Society for Personnel Management.
